UC Irvine Mechanical Engineering Department Seeking Companies for Fall 2016 Industry-Collaboration Program
UCI's Mechanical Engineering department has a program which partners with local businesses to have a group of mechanical engineering students work on a project for the company for 10 weeks, investing about 12 hours a week per student with the groups consisting of 5 to 6 students. The program is different than an internship in that it seeks to solve a problem or complete a project for the company.
We attended the UCI Homecoming which brought a lot of alumni from all years. From the amazing UCI Flag they gave out to a fun Anteater’s basketball game, Homecoming was a success through and through! The UCI Engineering Alumni Society booth had lots of visitors that day, including our good friend Peter the Anteater!
A lot of people joined in on our newly created game, “Zot Ball,” which was enjoyed by kids and adults!
The event included a lot of activities on the main stage with many dance and singing performances as well as a talk by UCI's very own alumni contact, Barney Ellis-Perry who serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations and CEO of the UC Irvine Alumni Association.
After the event, we all enjoyed the basketball game which was by far one of the biggest crowds in UCI history. All in all, it was a great day, with all sorts of booths that helped us reminisce our days at UCI as well as bring us back to talk with all of our fellow alumni.
