PRESIDENT
JONATHAN SANCHEZ Degree: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering 2010 Time at UCI: During his first year on campus, he briefly played on the UCI rugby club team. While at UCI he was involved in the MAT Sci Club along with friends and classmates. In his senior year Jonathan was a team member for Free Wheelchair Mission during senior design. --------------- Bio: Since graduating from UCI, Jonathan has used his engineering background working at SmartHome in testing home automation hardware and software. He has also worked at OEM Press Systems as a Solidworks Enterprise Product Data Management Administrator and drafter. He currently works as an engineer for an industrial steam equipment manufacturer, Miura America Co., LTD. |
TREASURER/HISTORIAN
AILEEN HUYNH Degree: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Minor in Material Science Engineering ’12 Time at UCI: While at UCI, she has been involve with Imports@UCI as an active member and board member since freshmen year. She has been involved in Racecar Engineering as a senior project since junior year being a Chassis Team Member and Human Interface Team Lead with over 360 hours of time spent over the two years. Other involvements include Pi Tau Sigma, Material Science & Engineering Club, and did research in material science for 2 years. --------------- Bio: Aileen is currently working at an engineering service provider for product design and development specializing in medical device and diagnostic equipment. She helps families make and save money with the financial firm she is with while educating those in low, middle and high income how to better utilize their money into tax-free retirement. On the side, she is an aspiring photographer with a drive to capture moments in life with her camera. |
VICE PRESIDENT
KEVIN WOODS, P.E. Degree: B.S. in Civil Engineering ’11, M.S. in Civil Engineering ‘12 Time at UCI: Kevin was involved with the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Chi Epsilon Honor Society and Associated Students of UCI (ASUCI). --------------- Bio: At the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (LACDPW), Kevin works as a Principal Civil Engineering Assistant. He has worked with GIS and right of way engineering, worked a water plan check counter in Malibu, designed water system improvements, performed analysis and planning for water quality projects, and currently works on traffic operations and electrical projects ranging from highway safety improvements to finding solutions to damaged traffic signal poles. He is also currently an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers' LA Younger Members Forum. |
COMMUNICATIONS
ROBERT RODRIGUEZ Degree: B.S. in Computer Science '13 Time at UCI: While attending UCI Robert enjoyed volunteering for organizations on and off campus. He was the External Vice President for the IEEE Student Branch at UCI, the Vice President of Corporate Affairs for the Student Chapter of MAES: Latinos in Science in Engineering, a committee member of the ICS Student Council, a sponsorship and planning chair for the Zotcade and IEEE Lan Parties, a research assistant in the Laboratory for Ubiquitous Computing and Interaction (LUCI), and a student volunteer and tournament coordinator for the International Games Innovation Conference 2011. Robert also started UCI’s participation in the IEEExtreme Global Programming Competition in 2012, which UCI still competes in today and placed 2nd in the world in 2017. When he wasn’t studying or volunteering, he had internships at Quest Software, EMC Corporation, Operation Technology Inc, and Edwards Lifesciences. --------------- Bio: Since graduating from UCI, Robert has been a software engineer for consulting companies working on call center software, middleware for investment management firms, and cloud migration. He has also stayed involved with UCI by helping out the ACM student chapter with a quadcopter project, assisting in relaunching the ICS Alumni Chapter, and as a committee member at the launch of the Engineering Alumni Society. In his free time Robert enjoys upcycling items, growing his own food in containers/hydroponically/aquaponically, hiking, slaying internet dragons in video games, kayaking in the Newport Back Bay, and designing and building props for his annual Halloween and Christmas displays. |

EMILY NG Degree: B.A. in Business Economics ’10 and a Minor in Management Time at UCI: In addition to her studies, she completed the Disney College Program internship and served as Vice President of Finance for Phi Sigma Rho, the National Science and Engineering Sorority. During her last year, she studied abroad at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. --------------- Bio: Emily currently engineers client's tax planning as a tax accountant. She is a Certified IRA Specialist and has completed a Certificate in Accounting at UCLA Extension. She regularly attends events for UCI Alumni Association and enjoys snowboarding and traveling. |

CHRISTOPHER HULES Degree: B.S. in Computer Science Engineering '12, B.S. in Electrical Engineering '12 Time at UCI: Christopher worked as a Peer Academic Advisor for the school of engineering. He was also involved with Tau Beta Pi. --------------- Bio: Christopher currently working as a Design Automation Lead on a team that is developing cutting edge Optane Persistent Memory products as a part of Intel Corporation’s Data Center Group. He is an avid tinkerer and 3D printer advocate with multiple printers that are almost continuously running. On weekends you might find him kayaking or stand up paddle boarding in Back Bay or cycling on one of the many bike trails in Irvine. |

PATTY LE-NARULA Degree: B.A. in Political Science ‘92 Time at UCI: Patty was involved in student government and a non-profit humanitarian organization called Project Ngoc. Knowing that she wanted to become a lawyer, Patty also volunteered with the OC Bar Association, wrote articles for a magazine, and held a job with a nearby law firm. --------------- Bio: Patty attended Harvard Law School and then worked at a large international law firm. In 1999, Patty and her husband (Rabi, B.S. Mech.E. ’92) moved back to Irvine, where they currently live. Patty and Rabi have 2 kids in college. Patty works in-house at a software company, where she oversees the admin, finance, and legal teams. |

SITARA NAYUDU Degree: B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Minor in Management ‘11 Time at UCI: Sitara was involved with Engineering Student Council (ESC), the UCI Speech and Debate team, Pi Beta Phi, and the Associated Students of UCI (ASUCI). She was elected the undergraduate Student Body President in her senior year. In that time, she was also selected to be the first ever student to sit on the UCI Foundation Board of Trustees. --------------- Bio: Professionally, Sitara has taken her energy, charisma, and dynamism to the technology industry, where she has consistently functioned as the bridge between people, ideas, and product. As an early employee at Ring, the video doorbell company, Sitara helped build out the company’s smart home applications, first as a Senior Project Manager, then as a Senior Product Manager, helping to successfully position the company in its sale to Amazon. Now at Amazon, Sitara is spearheading the development of the Los Angeles chapter of Amazon Women in Engineering, helping to build a support and growth network for female engineers at the company. Prior to Ring, Sitara worked as the Manager of Implementation at Cargomatic, a start-up focused on creating efficiency in the shipping industry, and as a consultant at Kaiser Permanente, where she helped healthcare systems around the country implement software to manage their workflows. In 2019, Sitara was awarded the Lauds and Laurels – Distinguished Young Alumna award for her professional achievements and community engagement. |
