Volunteering Opportunity - Environmental Engineering Panel
This spring, UCI's Division of Career Pathways is planning to host an "Engineering for the Environment" panel, consisting of recent alumni (1-2 years out) from UCI's Environmental Engineering program, at the Career Center. They are currently recruiting panelists and we're wondering if there are any alumni who would be interested in participating.
The panel is on Wednesday, April 24th, from 3 to 4:30 pm, at the UCI Division of Career Pathways (formerly the Career Center) and it will involve answering questions about the field alongside three other panelists, to be followed by a Q&A/interactive portion with the students who attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
If you know anyone who may be interested and available that day, they'd be thrilled to have them. Contact Audrey Sugimoto at [email protected] to volunteer by February 22nd!

Pi Day and St Patrick's Day Celebration - Thursday, March 14, 2019
Come join the UCI Engineering Alumni Society and friends for a wonderful evening at Barney's Beanery for our annual St Patrick's Day event. Since the event lands on Pi Day, let's celebrate with a shepherd's pie while there and enjoy the rational number that helps us in many of our engineering practices. Our special guest, Kevin Woods, will be there and you can talk to him about his experience working with traffic signal maintenance in the midst of the Woolsey Fire and the after affects it's had on the inner workings of his traffic operations group. We will be joining up with some local groups, so look forward to more fun and more new faces! This is an event you don't want to miss!

March Hike to Skull Rock via Temescal Canyon - Sunday, March 24, 2019
A moderately challenging 4.6 mile loop trail in the Pacific Palisades. This route takes you on the popular Temescal Canyon Trail to Temescal Falls (really just a small cascade, most often only a trickle). From there, the hike makes a strong but shaded ascent up to the ridge and to Skull Rock, a cool little rock formation with some excellent views of the Pacific Coast and inland (on clear days). This is a great, slightly-more-than-casual workout hike with lots of great options to extend your trip to a full-day hike, too!
Parking: You can park for free on Temescal Canyon Rd or Sunset Blvd, or pay the fee inside the park but be careful to stop carefully since they have a camera stop sign that is very sensitive.
Who: Anyone interested in hiking!
What: Skull Rock Hike
When: Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 9:30am
Where: Temescal Gateway Park (15601 Sunset Blvd
Pacific Palisades, CA 90272) Trailhead
